It is hard to speak generally. But I think that the churches in the South have very little discipline. A lot if 'show' and 'networking' and 'large is better'. So an infidelity is whispered about in their McMansions, but tolerated. A man will divorce, but if he is 'gifted', he'll keep his ministry without question or some sort of humble due process.
I think its harder to be Christian in the South of the US than just about anywhere else.
