The Wilshire 5000 dropped 2.68% yesterday. It's been a bad week for stockmarkets everywhere. So are we a bear market yet?
The Wilshire high was 15,700.95 on July 13, 2007.
Last night it dropped to 14,432.34.
That's a drop of 1268.61 points (roughly US$1268.61 billion), or 8.07% since July 13.
A bear market officially starts when the drop reaches 20%. So we're nearly halfway there.
