The best way to view Wikipedia

Wikipedia. Can you trust it? Can you really use it as a trustworthy guide to what is factual?

In many ways the answer is yes. In others the answer is no.

Let me illustrate. Imagine you have a friend who says he knows everything. Of course he doesn't, but he proves to be very good at knowing everything you want to know. Sometimes he slips up, but the good thing is that he will tell you that he's wrong if you ask him. The best thing about this friend is that he can point you in the right direction and give you evidence that backs up his claims.

That friend is Wikipedia. He is valuable in being able to summarise facts and to tell you the place to look if you're wanting to do more study.
