Here's a list I've just made up from the NSW Government Website. I'm comparing the percentage of people voting Conservative to those who vote for Progressive parties in the NSW Senate:

LIBERAL / NATIONALS 30.73%
CHRISTIAN DEMOCRATIC PARTY (FRED NILE GROUP) 4.00%
THE SHOOTERS PARTY 2.54%
HORSE RIDERS PARTY / OUTDOOR RECREATION PARTY 0.59%
Total of Conservative Political parties: 40.66%
AUSTRALIAN DEMOCRATS 1.54%
THE GREENS 8.15%
UNITY PARTY 1.15%
RESTORE THE WORKERS' RIGHTS PARTY 0.85%
LABOR 36.24%
SOCIALIST ALLIANCE 0.38%
HUMAN RIGHTS PARTY 0.36%
Total of Progressive Political parties: 48.67%
Some caveats:
1) There are some parties/individuals I didn't include because I didn't know where they stood politically (eg "Save Our Suburbs" and Dawn Fraser).
2) I have included the Australian Democrats as a "Progressive" party even though they are fairly centrist.
3) This doesn't mean I like the ALP. I put them 2nd last on my ballot paper.

That the ALP got the honour of being placed second-last on your ballot paper has me wondering who was last. Or is that a secret?
Now I know that you try to be helpful to overseas readers, but I think you should still use the proper terminology and then add an explanation if necessary. No Australian state has a "senate"; in those states with bicameral parliaments (i.e. all states except Queensland) the upper chamber is called the Legislative Council.
